Graham for Europe
Graham For Europe is a European platform and organization dedicated to dancers and others passionate about the Martha Graham technique(™). It aims to connect the Graham community and foster collaboration within European countries and with the Martha Graham Center in New York. Through master classes, exchange programs, conferences and other resources, we take the Graham legacy into the future, maintaining the creative process alive and open to new Graham artists.
Recognized as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, Martha Graham created a movement language based upon the expressive capacity of the human body.
The Graham technique has been taught worldwide. Today, it continues to serve as a rich and powerful training and to influence contemporary dance.
The Graham for Europe organization has been initiated by Rafael Molina, a native of France. He studied at the Martha Graham School after receiving a Fulbright scholarship, graduating in 2014. Rafael is also a former member of Graham 2, New York. Regularly teaching in France and Western Europe, he has also started in 2019 a research project funded by the Centre national de la danse: 'Graham educational practices : collection, analysis and transmission.
In 2020, sml Dance commissioned Grahm for Europe to create the artistic stage piece for REBIRTH. A piece about hope, love and the resilience of the human spirit.
